So I’ve been with this corp for like a day, and I go to meet up with the other people for a mining mission, and two of the guys start setting me up with gear and skills advice. Great, so far. Then they start talking about some beef they have with the boss, and do I want to join up with them instead of staying with the boss and the rest of the corp. Then I realize that they’re not even going on the corp mining mission; we’re running a completely different mission.

They both seem like good guys, and I learned a lot about skills, but I’m not ready to turn my back on the first corp I ever joined after one day.

I’m not gonna say anything to the boss about their offer.

shuttle work, arrgh

Huh, I thought I did pretty well with those covert missions, but my agent is now giving me very basic shuttle pilot stuff. I wonder if I pissed somebody off. I think maybe I’m done with Public Relations. Karl says he can hook me up with somebody looking for combat pilots.

a new job

While I was recuperating from a skirmish with some Caldari hostiles, I met Karl, who persuaded me to take a job with his corporation. So, just like that, I don’t work for the ol’ U. of C. anymore.

Karl helped me resolve my situation with the Caldari hostiles. That listening post won’t be a problem for the Federation anymore. I spotted some habitation units but when I went back to see if there were survivors, I could not locate the habitation modules anymore.

I had some strange hallucinations during this mission. On a few occasions, I could see clouds in space made of strange symbols, like giant writing repeated across the stars, forming great clouded masses of letters or words. Later I figured out that my optical reciprocator had a bad cell, and the words I was seeing were from my own HUD, somehow stretched and reflected all over themselves… anyway, I’m glad there is an explanation and that I’m not insane.

Public relations

Not many agents are interested in working with someone as green as me, but I found one willing to take a shot on me, in the Navy’s Public Relations office. It wasn’t until he started describing the mission that I realized this was way heavier than Public Relations.

So now I seem to be doing undercover ops for the Navy. They’re sending me on sensitive missions against hostile Caldari forces. The Caldari are up to some weird stuff.

Learning production

I’ve learned the basics of mining and production work while at the University. I know how to make small Antimatter Charges. I’ve also gotten access to some new ships to fly.

Thanks to a good word from Muenel, I found a pilot’s job at an office of the University of Caille. I’m based out of the Trossere system now, which is only a couple of jumps away from Bourynes.
